About This Mix Tape

CLEVE MACK - CHECK prod. NEEKOBABY IN AN ERA OF HIP-HOP CELEBRATED ARTISTS WEAVE TALL TALES, COMES A RAPPER UNBECOMING OF FABRICATED LYRICS AND FICTITIOUS RHYMES COLUMBIA S.C. BASED CLEVE MACK CHOOSES AUTHENTICITY GLEAMED FROM THE STREETS OF THE DIRTY SOUTH. QUITE SIMPLY, CLEVE MACK IS TELLING HIS STORY. BORN IN THE PEE DEE REGION OF DARLINGTON S.C., CLEVE MACK GOT HIS START IN A SMALL TOWN OF ABOUT 6,000 RESIDENTS. AT THE AGE OF 11 HE WITNESSED HIS FATHER'S INCARCERATION, LEAVING HIS MOTHER TO RAISE HIM, 2 YOUNGER BROTHERS AND AN OLDER SISTER. IN AN ATTEMPT TO BETTER THEIR SITUATION, THE SINGLE MOTHER MOVED HER FAMILY TO THE STATE CAPITAL. THIS WHERE THE ARTIST WHO WOULD BE KNOWN AS CLEVE MACK WAS BORN. THROUGH THE MUSICAL TUTELAGE OF RAP STALWARTS SUCH AS SCARFACE, RAKIM, JAY-Z AND NAS; CLEVE MACK STARTED WRITING HIS OWN RHYMES. BY THE AGE OF 18, CLEVE MACK HAD CAREFULLY CRAFTED HIS SKILLS, SETTING HIS MIND ON PURSUING A RAP CAREER. IN 2004, UNDER THE MONIKER MAC-A-DON, THE SONG "NO!!!" WAS RELEASED. THIS ENERGETIC STREET SINGLE CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF RADIO STATIONS AND CLUBS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHEASTERN REGION OF THE U.S. THIS WAS QUICKLY FOLLOWED UP BY THE RELEASE OF HIS FIRST MIXTAPE "BREAD UP VOL. 1" HOSTED BY POPULAR RADIO PERSONALITY CHARLEMAGNE THE GOD, IT SOLD ROUGHLY 2,000 COPIES IN THE REGION. THIS WAS QUICKLY FOLLOWED UP BY THE RELEASE OF THE MIXTAPES "BREAD UP! VOL. 2" IN 2006 AND "BREAD UP! VOL. 3: BANNED FROM THE RADIO" IN 2007. MAJOR LABELS STARTED TO TAKE NOTICE OF CLEVE MACK'S MOMENTUM. HOWEVER DESPITE NUMEROUS MEETINGS, NO DEAL MATERIALIZED. IN 2008, A SERIOUS ILLNESS FORCED HIM TO MOVE BACK TO HIS HOMETOWN OF DARLINGTON S.C. OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS CLEVE MACK FOCUSED ON HIS HEALTH. IN 2011, MACK RE-UNITED WITH LONG-TIME COLLABORATOR AND CURRENT MANAGER CHARLIE WATERS. THE ARTIST WAS SIGNED TO THE CHARLIE WATERS LED LABEL "ROK BOTTOM MUSIC GROUP". SUPPORTED BY GOOD HEALTH AND GOOD MANAGEMENT, CLEVE MACK HAS STARTED TO REBUILD HIS MOMENTUM IN THE HIP-HOP INDUSTRY. WHILE CURRENTLY IN THE STUDIO PREEPING HIS NEW ALBUM, CLEVE MACK IS LOOKING FORWARD TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO TELL HIS STORY.
